Opened
in 1992 and designed by the famous American golf course architect
Ronald Fream,
Vale da Pinta has earned its place as one of the nicest Algarve golf
courses and possibly one of the best designed golf courses in Europe.
Having
hosted the European Seniors Tour Qualifying final for 8 consecutive
years, Vale da Pinta is rightly respected not just for its
playability
and challenging layout but for its outstanding beauty and
enjoyment.
This
par 71 golf course, covers a distance of 6,115 meters and is set
amongst an old olive grove and boasts some of the most amazing olive,
carob, fig and almond trees, some of which date back more than 600
years. There is in fact one special featured olive tree which dates
back more the 1200 years!
Many
of the par 4's and 5's at Vale da Pinta are doglegs, which
emphasizes the need for skillful driving! and the size of the greens
are relative to the length of the approach shots that are required,
proving to be an exciting challenge for all levels of golfers.
