Studio Select Kombi Putter Review
Similar to the Kombi
Mid and the Kombi
Long Putter, the Scotty Cameron Studio Select Kombi
Putter
is precision milled from a light weight 6061 aircraft aluminum metal to
give it the volume and shape qualities that Scotty was looking to
achieve and then correctly balancing it by using the ground-breaking
adjustable weight technology used in the Studio
Select Putter Series which made
them so successful.
This
superior weighting technology added to the Studio Select Kombi Putter
uses a heavier stainless steel metal to ensure that the putter head is
perfectly weighted and balanced, for optimal forgiveness and feel,
and comes in the form of 3 circular weights that are
screwed into the
sole of the putter head.
These weights are positioned in the sole at the heel and toe ends and
one at a central point near the rear of the putter head. The location
of these weights are crucial because they push the center of
gravity deeper
and further back in the putter head. This not only helps to
increase
stability for more forgiveness during the putting stroke by reducing
the amount of club face
rotation, but also produces a more solid and consistent ball
roll.
The key to this technology though is that these weights are adjustable,
so allow Scotty to perfectly match the putter head weight to the 3
different shaft length options that he offers for this
model, which are 33", 34" and 35".
This gives golfers the opportunity
to select a putter that is not only the correct length for their
physical shape and putting style, but is precision weighted and
balanced for optimal feel and performance.
Another custom built option that can be requested during the purchasing process,
and gives you another chance to find that perfect
match, is with the lie angle. The Scotty
Cameron Studio
Select Kombi Putter
comes as standard with a lie angle of 71 degrees. This lie
angle can be
adjusted by up to +/- 2 degrees, depending on your personal
preferences.

Its not just the multitude of options and technological enhancements
that make the
Studio Select Kombi
Putter
Series so appealing, it's
also the attention to detail that
Scotty
Cameron has put into
the visual appearance and design elements that install
confidence and make them stand out.
All of the
Scotty
Cameron Studio Select Kombi Putters
come with a specially designed putter head cover and feature a clean
flowing double-bend stepless shaft with a full shaft of offset to
ensure a pleasing and unobstructed view at address, as well as a high
contrasting red ink T-Shaped sight line along the topline and body
to help with proper alignment, and a soft misted
finish to reduce the negative effects of glare.
Although you will need to spend a little more on a
Scotty Cameron Studio Select Kombi
Putter, you will certainly find
that in this case, you are getting what you pay for. When it
comes to feel, looks and overall performance levels,
the expert craftsmanship, superior design and advanced
technology that go into one of these finely milled
Scotty
Cameron Putters makes them well
worth their price tag.
