Studio Select Newport 2.6 Golf Putter
Review!

Back
in 2008 Scotty expanded the Studio Select Putter Line with the
introduction of the new Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2.6
Putter, which helped to make it a more well-rounded Series. The Newport
2.6 Putter has the same performance proven head style as the Newport 2
Putter, but with the shaft going straight into the putter head for a
clean smooth looking appearance.
Scotty has added a milled sight dot on the topline behind the stepless
shaft to give players a reference mark, and the new tour-inspired
Cherry Dot graphics. The Newport 2.6 is precision milled from a block
of soft yet durable 303 stainless steel metal to enhance performance
and feel.
One of the most significant technological enhancements made to this
years Scotty Cameron Studio Select Putters is the introduction of the
heel and toe weighting system.
This enhancement uses circular interchangeable weights that are screwed
into the heel and toe end of the putters sole and with 3 different
shaft length options available from 33” through to 35” this important
enhancement allows Scotty to correctly balance the weight of the
putterhead so that it is relative to the shaft length. |
The
Newport 2.6 Putter also comes with 2 extra heavier weight options in
the 34” and 35” shaft lengths, for those golfers that prefer a heavier,
more solid feel. Golfers also have the option of changing the lie angle
by up to +/- 2 degrees from the standard 71 degree lie angle. The
location of these weights also helps to reduce clubhead rotation and
stabilize the putter face throughout the putting stroke, as well as
increasing the moment of inertia to provide a larger sweet spot for a
more consistent strike across the clubface.
The Studio Select
Newport 2.6 Putter also has a higher toe profile, which helps those
golfers who have a tendency to raise the toe end of the putter up at
address and consequently aim left of the intended target line. With its
clean and attractive look and soft beaded mist finish, to help
reduce glare from the topline, the Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport
2.6 Putter may cost a little more than some other brands but is well
worth the quality experience and increased performance levels you will
benefit from.
Studio Select Putters are Tour validated, and each
of the 9 designs are inspired by Scotty's experience of working with
the best golfers in the world, which has made them the number 1 putter
on the PGA Tour since 1997. Although you will need to spend a
little more on a Scotty Cameron Putter compared to other brands, you
will certainly not be disappointed. In this case, you definitely get
what you pay for, which is a high performance putter that is
aesthetically pleasing to the eye and will simply help you to gain more
confidence and hole more putts.

Select Squareback 1 Golf Putter Review |
The
Scotty
Cameron Squareback 1 Golf Putter by Titleist Scotty Cameron
is another fairly recent addition after the experimental prototype
proved popular on tour. This years model has been fine tuned to include
a double bend shaft-over-spud setup for golfers seeking face balanced
mallet putter.
With the same new tour-inspired Cherry Dot graphics that all of the 9
putters possess in the Studio Select Series, the Squareback 1 Golf
Putter gets its name from the signature square flange that includes a

Select Squareback 2 Golf Putter Review |
Although
the Scotty
Cameron Squareback 2 Golf Putter by Titleist Scotty Cameron
at first glance looks very similar to the Squareback 1 Putter, there
are some subtle differences in their design though, with the Squareback
2 Putter being setup to give players a bit more toe flow.
The subtle differences come in the form of a slightly thinner topline,
thicker cavity wall and a mid-length plumbing neck hosel that is
positioned slightly further back towards the heel on the Suareback 2
Model, instead of the shaft over spud setup in the Squareback 1 Model.
