GX-2 Golf Rangefinder Review
|
|
Similar
to all of Leupold’s great products the GX-2 digital range
finder
is durable and built to offer years of dependable use, with its
ruggedly constructed housing and waterproof body. The Leupold GX-2 range finder is also incredibly easy
to use with a quick start up menu that provides fast access to all of
the features.
The quick start up menu also
does this without cluttering up your field of view! Using precision glass and the latest cutting edge technology the optics
in the Leupold GX-2 range finder are low glare and scratch
resistant to offer you clear and bright vision.
Every Leupold GX-2 slope edition golf laser rangefinder has been
precisely calibrated to fire a laser
beam directly at the target which has been acquired in the
viewfinders crosshairs, and
they also all utilize Leupold’s PinHunter and Prism Lock
functions to ensure that you receive fast, accurate distance readings
every time. |
By using the PinHunter's advanced software and proprietary beam
geometry the Leupold GX-2 range finder is able to accurately gauge the
exact distance to the selected target without being mislead by any
objects in the background. Life becomes even easier if you are playing
on a course that utilizes prism technology in their flagsticks. All you
need to do then is hold the top button down and scan the area around
the pin. The GX-2’s Prism Lock function will locate the prism
topped flagstick and beep when it has locked on.
The Leupold GX-2 is more than just your traditional golf rangefinder
though. In its basic form it gives you everything you would expect from
a high quality golf range finder, with exceptionally accurate distances
to flags, bunkers, and any other objects on the course. However, switch
to the True Golf Mode (TGM) and you get a very different animal. Once
in TGM the Leupold GX-2 range finder becomes your very own tour caddy
and provides you with accurate ranging information by taking into
account your personal striking distances, the elevation of the shot in
hand and atmospheric conditions, to give you the actual hitting
distance for each shot.
This Leupold golf laser rangefinder then takes it a step further with
the Club Selector feature and provides you with suggestions on which
club you should use for your next shot. Activating this feature is
simple, all you need to do is input the striking distances for three
specific clubs and the GX-2 will take care of the rest! There are a
couple of other great features on the Leupold GX-2 digital golf range
finder that are worth a mention as well, with Fog and Scan Modes.
Fog Mode does exactly what it suggests and enables you to get true and
accurate distance readings even when the weather is foggy, unlike some
other range finders that will simply not work properly under those
conditions. And Scan Mode enables you to gather multiple distance
readings with one simple sweep of your Leupold
GX-2
range finder. Just hold down the power button and the display will
continuously update you with accurate line-of-sight measurements. If

I have had the Leupold GX-2 range finder almost a year now. I use it
every round and on most shots. It's better than the GPS devices as it
give you distance to pin. There are lots of these on the market. This
is as good as any of them and better than most. ACCURATE!!

delivers everything it promised -

Prior to purchasing my Leupold GX2 range finder I read a number of
reviews by golfers who had purchased the Leupold or one of the Bushnell
range finders. I settled on the Leupold based on its features and how
applicable they were to the variety of courses I play. I have not
experienced any significant problems focusing the device on flags
although when focusing on flags with crystals the audible beep is
reassuring that you have captured your target. The device was easy to
set up as it required the distance I hit 3 different clubs, the
elevation, and temperture. I have already benefitted from its
recommended club and playing distance when hitting to an elevated
green. Several years ago I purchased a range finder from a company
different than Leupold and had numerous problems with the battery cover
and lack of customer service from that manufacturer. The battery fit
perfectly with the Leupold and after playing 9 rounds with GX2 it has
worked exactly the way it was advertised. I highly recommend the
Leupold GX-2 range finder.

It took a while to feel comfortable using it, but it works as it's
supposed to. Some of the golf course terrains are hard to read and the
Leupold GX-2 range finder really helps in reading the distance and then
with club selection. Would recommend it to others.

Apart from price, one of the most important things that you need to
consider before buying a golf range finder, is what you are going to be
using it for. When it comes to choosing a golf range finder there are
two types that
you can buy, you can either go for a Tournament
Edition or
a Slope
Edition rangefinder. Check below to learn the difference
between the two and find out which models are the best Tournament and
Slope edition range finders for you.

Tournament Edition Golf Range Finders
|
|
If
you're looking for a golf laser range finder
that can be used in competition or for handicap purposes then
you will need to buy a Tournament
Edition rangefinder, as this type of range finder provides
line of sight distance measurements only and are deemed to be legal for
tournament use (where local rules apply).
This year has seen the release of some excellent new models from the
markets
leading brands. These new rangefinders are faster at
retrieving results and far more accurate at ranging targets
than ever
before. Click the image to learn all about the

Best
Slope Edition Golf Laser Range Finders
|
|
Slope
Edition golf laser rangefinders are considered non-legal for
tournament play because they offer extra features that provide
adjusted yardage
measurements which compensate for the natural inclines and
declines of the course, and some even account for climate
conditions and offer suggestions on club selection!
So if you just want a range finder to use in practice
or to improve your game so you can gain that crucial edge
over your golfing buddies, then a Slope edition range finder may very
well be the one to consider. Check out the best Slope edition golf
range finders by clicking on the image.
