Dave
Stockton was born in San Bernardino, California in 1941, and attended
the University of Southern California, before turning prof in 1964.
During his years as an active PGA Tour player he had a reputation for
being one of the best putters around.
With 10 PGA Tour victories to his name, including 2 Majors, both in the
PGA Championship in 1970 & 1976, Dave Stockton had his career
year in 1974, when he won 3 times. Dave Stockton continued to enjoy
success when he joined the Senior PGA Tour (now known as the Champions
Tour) in 1991, winning 14 senior titles, including 3 Majors, 2 Senior
Players Championship in 1992 & 1994 and U.S. Senior Open in
1996.
As well as topping the Senior Tour money list in 1993 & 1994,
Stockton finished in the top 50 of the Champions Tour money list for a
13th consecutive season in 2004, and was credited with helping
the worlds number 2 Phil Mickelson with his putting, which helped him
to win the 2009 Tour Championship. If you are looking for some help
