Irons

The
new 2011 Callaway RAZR X Hybrid Golf Irons utilize some of the most
advanced technology seen to date, and are certainly going to lead the
way into the next generation of iron designs.
The RAZR X Irons have been specifically designed by Callaway to provide
golfers with the perfect combination of feel, ultimate
forgiveness and maximum distance, to ensure that players of all skill
levels no longer have to sacrifice power over precision.
This means that you will not only benefit from hitting more accurate
and consistent golf shots into the pins, so you can sink more putts,
but you can also do this without having to worry about losing any
distance, especially on those off-center hits.
Callaway have managed to significantly increase the effective hitting
area (sweet spot) in the RAZR X Irons by using their new variable face
thickness (VFT) technology.
This technology broadens the sweet spot and increases ball speeds
across the entire clubface by accurately varying the thickness of the
face in the appropriate areas and making it thinner as you move away
from the center. |
This additional weight shaved from the face, along with weight shaved
from other non critical areas has enable Callaway engineers to
redistribute 30 grams of weight to the back of the club in such a way
that it is not visible at address and is not attached to the sole so
that it won't interfere with the way the clubhead goes through the turf.
This Callaway RAZR Technology lowers the center of gravity by 12% and
shifts it 15% deeper in the RAZR X Irons when compared to the Callaway
X-22 Irons, making them a great choice of iron for all golfers, as they
provide the power and forgiveness of a wide-sole iron, with the
precision and playability of a thin-sole iron.
Due to the lower center of gravity, any shots hit from low down on the
face of the Callaway RAZR X Golf Irons (whch is very common amongst
amateur golfers!) will fly higher for more length, and as a result of
this, Callaway have also been able to strengthen the lofts by a couple
of degrees, which again results in more distance.
Callaway have also produced 2 other versions of the RAZR X Irons, so if
you are a more accomplished player then you may be interested in the
RAZR X Tour version (main difference being that the repositioned RAZR
weight is smaller) or for the pro's out there, the RAZR X Forged
version which is forged from 1020 carbon steel.

RAZR XF Hybrid Golf Irons Review |
The new Callaway
RAZR XF Hybrid Golf Irons set features a multi-material club
construction, along with some of the most advanced technology that
Callaway has to offer! With an ideal combination of irons and hybrids,
this impressive looking set of clubs will provide you with unbeatable
levels of forgiveness, playability and feel.
The forged 1025 Carbon Steel body is perimeter weighted to increase
forgiveness and offer a higher MOI, as well as providing soft,
responsive feedback at impact. The face is made from 455 Carpenter
Steel, that is stronger than traditional stainless steel, and helps to
generate faster ball speeds for added distance.

RAZR X Hybrid Golf Irons Review |
The Callaway
RAZR X Hybrid Golf Irons set gives you the very best of both
worlds, by combining the ultimate combination of distance and
forgiveness that you would expect from a set of wider-soled irons, with
the playability and turf interaction that more accomplished players
demand from a set of thinner-soled golfing irons.
By redistributing 30 grams of weight in the back cavity, Callaway have
managed to shift the centre of gravitiy so that it is 12 percent lower
and 15 percent deeper in these Irons. This along with VFT Technology
results in more consistent ball speeds across the face, increasing
distance and accuracy even on miss-hit shots.

X-24 Hot Golf Irons Review |
The new Callaway
X-24 Hot Irons are the longest, most accurate of the X Series
collection ever created, due to the evolutionary and ground-breaking
technologies, which produce faster ball speeds across the entire
clubface to deliver maximum distance, and optimized weight distribution
for ultimate accuracy and forgiveness.
Featuring Callaway's VFT (Variable Face Thickness) Technology, the
Callaway X-24 Hot Irons are able to provide an extremely robust and hot
clubface, along with a larger effective hitting area. This enhancement
generates faster ball speeds across the entire face, for maximum
distance, even on those off-center hits.

X-22 Golf Irons Review |
The Callaway
X-22 Irons with their tour-inspired head shape are ideal for
players of all levels. The slightly thinner topline and sole provide
golfers with the ultimate combination of playability and forgiveness,
and maximized perimeter weighting design gives them a 10% greater
moment of inertia (MOI) than their predecessors.
This combination results in providing you with forgiveness on those
off-center hits. They have also optimized the center of gravity
location throughout the set of the Callaway X-22 Irons to help generate
perfect ball flight trajectories, and included their modified Tru-Bore
design, to help dampen vibrations for enhanced feel.
