Callaway
RAZR Laser Rangefinder Review
|
|
The
new 2012 Callaway Golf RAZR Laser range
finder is one of Callaway’s best ever creations, and will
offer you superior speed and the most accurate distance measurements to
date.
It benefits from many of the same features and functions that were in
last years extremely popular Diablo
Octane range finder model. However, the Callaway RAZR Laser
is now 10% smaller, lighter and more compact, making one-handed
operation even easier than ever.
The attractive black and red color scheme and rubbery textured case
material that provides excellent grip in wet weather conditions gives
the Callaway RAZR a quality feel and professional look.
This extremely rugged and durable Callaway
Tournament Edition golf laser rangefinder also comes with a
new and improved premium carry case that completely covers the unit,
ensuring that the lens and body of the Callaway RAZR Laser rangefinder
are protected. |
There is also a convenient built in clip on the case so you can attach
it to your bag or cart to keep it safe and secure. Operating this Callaway
Golf Laser Range Finder is extremely easy as there are only
two buttons to worry about. The power button turns it on and gets your
distance readings, whilst the mode button allows you to change the
settings, i.e. choose between yards or meter readings or adjust it for
different lighting conditions.
In terms of performance the Callaway RAZR Laser range finder is second
to none. It is incredibly easy to use and with 6x magnification will
provide you with exceptionally clear, fast and accurate distance
readings up to a range of 600 yards and to within 0.1 yard increments,
making it one of the most advanced Tournament
Legal rangefinders currently available.
The Callaway RAZR Laser range finder features multi-coated optics to
improve light transmittance and uses Nikon’s First Target
Priority Mode, that picks out the nearest and smallest objects in the
crosshairs first, so you can lock on to pin positions, bunkers or
trees without retrieving misleading distance readings to any
background objects.
If you want to get a few quick distance readings to help you with lay
up points, bunkers or any other hazards that are in range then you can
take advantage of the RAZR Laser’s Scan Mode, just keep your
finger pressed down on the power button and this option will provide
you with continuous distance readings of targets that you scan, for up
to 8 seconds. If you are interested in buying the Callaway RAZR Laser

Awesome product - September
3, 2012
by NHC
I just got this Callaway Razr Laser rangefinder last week and have used
it on the range and on the course a few times. It works beautifully.
Really fast targeting and reading. It will easily sight on bunkers,
water, the flag, or other landforms or objects. This is my first golf
laser rangefinder so I can't compare to others, but it works
fantastically so far. I have used golf GPS apps on my phone but I like
this rangefinder better for several reasons. First, it's faster. With a
GPS app there's always some time in advancing it to the correct hole,
finding a signal, dealing with app crashes, etc. I whip out the
rangefinder and I get a yardage reading in seconds and I'm done.
Second, and this is where golf laser rangefinders are really
beneficial: It makes practice at the driving range so much more
productive. I can take this to any old driving range, one where they
haven't updated their yardage signs in decades (even though the tees
may move every day), and get precise yardages to all the targets on the
range. Now I can get my updated distances on all my clubs. GPS apps
can't do this unless the range is mapped, and they rarely are. Third,
there is a beauty in keeping things simple. I like getting a yardage
reading and that's it - all the features and things that GPS
apps/devices promise sometimes have a way of distracting and taking the
fun away from the game.
Flags at great distances can be tricky to sight on unless you can hold
steady enough (I like to lean against the cart to steady), and
sometimes there may be something blocking your target and hence the
laser. I now use the GPS app as a backup or confirmation if the laser
seems fishy, but only maybe 1-2 times a round. But by and large, even
if I have trouble sighting on a distant flag I can still get a reading
on a greenside bunker or front edge of the green (or even the grass on
the green itself), and that's all the info I'll need. So, I highly
recommend the Callaway RAZR Laser rangefinder for both
on-the-course play, as well as off-course practice.

using it for. When it comes to choosing a golf range finder there are
two types that

Tournament Edition Golf Range Finders
|
|
If
you're looking for a golf laser range finder
that can be used in competition or for handicap purposes then
you will need to buy a Tournament
Edition rangefinder, as these type of range finders provide
line of sight distance measurements only and are deemed to be legal for
tournament use (where local rules apply).
2012 has seen the release of some excellent new models from the market
leading brands. These new rangefinders are faster at
retrieving results and more accurate at laser ranging targets than ever
before. Click the image to the left to learn all about the

Best
Slope Edition Golf Laser Range Finders
|
|
Slope
Edition golf laser rangefinders are considered non-legal for
tournament play because they offer additional features that provide
adjusted yardage
measurements which compensate for the natural inclines and
declines of the course, and some even account for climate
conditions and offer suggestions on club selection!
So if you just want a range finder to use in practice
or to improve your game so you can gain that crucial edge
over your golfing buddies, then a Slope edition range finder may very
well be the one to consider. Check out the best Slope edition golf
range finders for 2012 by clicking on the image to the left.
