California Sonoma Putter Review
The
new Scotty Cameron California Sonoma
Putter is a class act that
incorporates Scotty’s classic design principles, with its
compact wide bodied mallet style head shape, yet is modern and utilizes
the latest tour proven technological enhancements.
With its golden honey dipped finish that looks spectacular and helps to
reduce glare from the topline, traditional plumbers neck hosel, clean
looking stepless shaft and perfect offset, gazing down at Scotty
Cameron’s California Sonoma
Putter
is enough to put a smile on even the most serious of golfers face.
Milled from a soft 303 stainless steel metal that has a soft sound and
feel to it, which enhances both touch and performance on the greens,
the Scotty
Cameron California Sonoma Putter
has a drafted sole which keeps the putter head square in the correct
playing position for proper alignment.
To further improve putting performance the Sonoma also features the
high toe setup which all of the California
Putter Series utilize and helps
to prevent golfers from making the mistake of raising the toe of the
putter head up at address, which leads to aiming left of the intended
target line.
The cherry on the cake though, and the main enhancement introduced to
the new California Sonoma Putter
is the circular interchangeable weights that have been screwed into the
heel and toe end of the sole of the putter.
Not only do these weights increase the moment of inertia and sweet spot
for greater accuracy and forgiveness, but they also allow golfers the
option of having different length shafts while maintaining perfect
balance and performance in the putter.
Scotty offers 3 different length shaft options with the 33”,
34” or 35” that are complimented by a perfectly
weighted putter heads. Golfers also have the option of
choosing a different lie angle to match their putting style, by up to
+/- 2 degrees from the standard lie angle of
71 degrees.
The Scotty Cameron California Sonoma
Putter comes complete with the
Black Cameron Tour Grip for exceptional feel, a single flange sight
line to help with alignment and special Scotty Cameron Putter Head
Cover.
In total there are 5 Designs in the Scotty
Cameron California Putter
Series, each named after Scotty’s favorite Californian Towns,
which also include the elegant Monterey
blade, the flow neck Del
Mar
mallet, the refined flow neck Coronado
blade, and the smooth Hollywood
blade.
Each of these 5 Scotty
Cameron California Putters
merge the very best of classic and
contemporary design and performance based technology, that simply look
stunning with their heat-treated honey dipped misted finish which also
helps to reduce glare from the topline.
Although the Scotty Cameron California
Series Putters are a little more expensive than other brands, you
will certainly find
that in this case, you are getting what you pay for.
The expert craftsmanship, superior design and advanced
technology that go into the finely milled Scotty
Cameron Putter makes them well
worth their price tag. |
