Tour Z6 Range Finder Review
|
|
The
new 2012 Tour
Z6 Laser Rangefinder
is the very latest edition to Bushnell's already extremely popular and
successful line of golf laser range finders and comes with exciting new
additional features and technology to help golfers get the most out of
their game.
Similar to the new Bushnell
Pro 1M and Pro
1M Slope
models, the Bushnell Tour Z6 range finder offers golfers a
much
better visual experience with the introduction of Vivid
Display
Technology and it is the only rangefinder in
Bushnell's
collection to benefit from their brand new Extreme Speed Precision
Technology (E.S.P.).
This technology provides incredibly
accurate distance readings and also produces them at lightening speeds.
The Bushnell Tour Z6 golf laser rangefinder also has a 6x magnification
capability which is perfect for this vertically orientated device and
is accurate to within 1/2 yard up to a maximum range of 1300
yards.
|
The Bushnell Tour Z6 range finder also has the ability to lock on
to pin positions from at least 450 yards away. But it is when you get
closer to the greens that this exceptional tournament edition laser
range finder comes into its own. From 5 to 125 yards away the Bushnell
Tour Z6 golf laser range finder displays distance measurements to
within a 1/10th of a yard, making it one of the Best
Legal Golf Rangefinders around. With this kind of accuracy
and technology at your fingertips you cant help but gain more
confidence in your game.
The
Bushnell Tour Z6 is an extremely lightweight and compact laser
rangefinder that is very easy to handle and small enough to comfortably
fit into your trouser pocket without having the problem of it
interfering with you golf swing. In fact for those golfers with larger
hands the Tour Z6 may even feel a little too small and compact for
their liking, so may prefer the feel and bigger size of the original Bushnell
Tour V2 or the new horizontally orientated Bushnell
Pro 1M Models.
As
with all of the Bushnell golf laser rangefinder lineup, the Tour Z6
rangefinder has a professional feel and an attractive look about it
with its black and white color scheme and flashes of red. The
construction is also very solid and durable, so at least you know it's
going to stand up to the normal rigors of the game. The main body of
the Tour Z6 is covered with a rubbery type material which provides
excellent grip to help you negotiate either those hot and sunny days
when your hands are sweating or if you are brave enough, on those wet
and rainy days when things become a bit more slippery!
You will
also be pleased to hear that the new posi-thread battery door
compartment on this Bushnell range finder works perfectly and stays
shut like it should do, so it wont suddenly spring open when your in
the middle of gaging the yardage distance for that crucial approach
shot, unlike some of the other golf range finders on the market tend to
do!
Like all Bushnell
Rangefinders,
you will find that the Tour Z6 range finder is incredibly easy to use.
It has one button on the top of the unit which is the power button and
another button on the side of the unit which is the mode button. The
power button is used for turning the device on, as well as for scanning
and capturing distance measurements, and the mode button is used for
toggling between settings so you can change from yards to meter
readings for example.
The Bushnell Tour Z6 also has premium lens
coatings that provide superb optical quality and an adjustable eyepiece
diopter that allows you to adjust the focus so you can avoid any
unnecessary strain on your eyes during your round of golf. To futher
enhance your visual experience, the Tour Z6 utilizes Bushnell's new
Vivid Display Technology that uses an easy to read red disply color and
provides excellent contrast and visibility under all lighting
conditions.
In terms of performance on the golf course, the Bushnell
Tour Z6
golf laser range finder is second to none and will provide you with
faster and more accurate distance readings than any other golf range
finder, and with the use of Extreme Speed Precision Technology
providing you with lightening speed measurements, 6x magnification
capability enabling you to zoom in close on your targets and Bushnell's
PinSeeker Technology ensuring that you always lock on to pin position,
there will be no excuses for blaming those miss hit shots on
incorrectly judging the your distances!
The Bushnell Tour Z6
rangefinder also features a scan mode which allows you to
capture
multiple distance readings in succession and comes in very handy for
judging those distances to lay up points or working out whether you can
carry that fairway bunker! The Tour Z6 uses a 3-volt battery to provide
you with extended life and comes with a premium carry case to help you
keep your unit safe and secure. Unlike slope edition rangefinders that
offer additional features to take into account slope angels, the
Bushnell Tour Z6 is legal for tournament play as it provides distance
measurements only.
In terms of comparing prices the Tour Z6
range finder has a recommended retail price of $399.00, which places it
slightly above the older Callaway
RAZR and Bushnell
Tour V2 but below the asking price for the Leupold
GX-3i. If you are looking for the best deals then you can

Very
Disappointed - October

The
Bushnell Tour Z6 Rang Finder is small and the button has to be pressed
very hard. Result is a shaky scope that is difficult to stick in on
target. Definitely would not recommend. Replaced with a Pro 1600 which is much easier to
use.
Buy the older Bushnell Tour V2
instead....it's better and cheaper - October

I
bought this unit and also the V2 w/ Slope to compare them both. I
played 9 holes using the V2 and loved it. Easy to use and the Slope is
actually a great tool. At the turn I switched them and started using
the Bushnell Tour Z6 Rangefinder. The Tour Z6 range finder is a hair
faster and the red readout is much easier to read as the red color
really stands out. That being said, the Tour V2 is not hard to read,
it's just not as bright as the red. HOWEVER, the button to press is
MUCH firmer on the Bushnell Tour Z6 and that causes a slight shake when
you are getting a long read.
I am a strong 38 year old so it
doesn't shake because I am old and feeble. It shakes because you have
to press so hard. Once I reached 13, I would use both and for the last
3 holes I was 100% back to the Tour
V2 with Slope.
Yes, the V2 is the older model but I decided to stick with that one and
not for the money.....I think there is only a $50 difference. You will
be happy with either one but I chose the V2 because of the Slope and
it's easier to use.
Just what i needed... - October

Ahhh
the Tour Z6..If I had to describe the way it felt in my hand. Two words
come to mind, rocket launcher. Well, excluding the front and back
tubular portion of course. The red button for lasing on the Bushnell
Tour Z6 range finder was pretty stiff right out of the box but after
one round, it seems to be easing up. The pinseeker technology grabbed
most of the flags with extreme speed. There were many times that I
caught myself wasting time hitting the same pin twice. You could say
that the speed of the initial readout on the Bushnell Tour Z6 put me
into a state of shock. I did have some rare instances of pinseeking
difficulty but it just took slightly longer to grab.
The
average "extreme speed" took 5 seconds while the "slightly longer grab"
took 13 seconds. I know it is not much but I figured I would provide an
estimated time just to compare. My mind runs through a check list
before each swing and this Bushnell Tour Z6 rangefinder just
helped me shorten that list. I have gained a great deal of confidence
with my club selection as well as my execution. I would highly
recommend the Bushnell Tour Z6 golf laser range finder to golfers
looking to gauge their distance with more accuracy. My mental estimates
were pretty accurate but not when the greens were sloped to make the
pins appear further/closer.

Best
Tournament Edition Golf Range Finders

|
If
you're looking for a golf laser range finder
that can be used in competition or for handicap purposes then
you will need to buy a Tournament
Edition rangefinder, as these type of range finders provide
line of sight distance measurements only and are deemed to be legal for
tournament use (where local rules apply).
2012 has seen the release of some excellent new models from the market

Best
Slope Edition Golf Laser Range Finders
|
|
Slope
Edition golf laser rangefinders are considered non-legal for
tournament play because they offer additional features that provide
adjusted yardage
measurements which compensate for the natural inclines and
declines of the course, and some even account for climate
conditions and offer suggestions on club selection!
So if you just want a range finder to use in practice
or to improve your game so you can gain that crucial edge
over your golfing buddies, then a Slope edition range finder may very
well be the one to consider. Check out the best Slope edition golf
range finders for 2012 by clicking on the image to the left.
